I. Safety, Intended Users, and Operating Environment
Q1. Who is the M2 underwater scooter suitable for?
A. The M2 is a consumer-grade underwater scooter intended for recreational diving applications. It is primarily designed for family recreation, snorkeling, pool use, travel, SUP activities, and underwater photography. It is suitable for first-time underwater scooter buyers and users who value portability and versatility. The product should not be positioned or promoted as professional rescue, cave penetration, or industrial diving equipment, nor should it be relied upon as the primary means of returning to safety, as doing so could create safety risks for the user.
Q2. What is the recommended age requirement for the M2?
A. Users under 16 years of age must be proficient swimmers and must be continuously supervised by a qualified guardian who is thoroughly familiar with this product.
Q3. Can a non-swimmer rely on the M2 in the water? Can the M2 be used as a lifesaving device?
A. No. The M2 is not a lifesaving device, flotation aid, or substitute for swimming ability. Anyone who cannot swim, cannot independently return to shore, or lacks the skills required for the intended water activity should not rely on the scooter to enter deep water. Appropriate safety equipment, such as a life jacket, buoyancy device, mask, or wetsuit, should still be worn as required for the activity.
Q4. Is a buddy required when using the M2?
A. A buddy or observer is required. When diving or using the product in open water, follow the buddy system and do not enter waters alone where you may be unable to return safely on your own.
Q5. Can the M2 be used after drinking alcohol or taking medication?
A. Do not use the M2 while under the influence of alcohol or medication, or when your physical or mental condition is unsuitable for swimming, diving, or snorkeling.
Q6. Can the M2 be used in strong currents, rip currents, or severe weather?
A. Not recommended. Avoid severe weather, strong offshore winds, fast currents, hazardous waters, and any environment that the user cannot safely control or return from.
Q7. Can the M2 be used in water with heavy sediment, seaweed, or floating debris?
A. Not recommended. Mud, sand, debris, seaweed, and floating objects may enter the scooter, become entangled in the propeller, or damage the propulsion system. Check water conditions before entering the water.
Q8. Can the M2 be run in air? Is unusual rotational speed in air normal?
A. Do not run the motor continuously in air for more than 5 seconds. The M2 has no-load speed-reduction protection, so its rotational speed or operating behavior in air does not represent underwater performance. Prolonged dry running must not be used as a substitute for in-water testing. If the device still shows obvious abnormalities underwater, stop using it and inspect the unit.
Q9. What precautions should be taken regarding fingers, hair, and clothing?
A. Keep fingers, hair, and clothing away from the propeller and the water intake/outlet areas. Prevent long hair, loose clothing, straps, necklaces, fishing nets, and similar items from being drawn into the scooter. Always fully power off the unit before clearing or servicing the propeller.
Q10. Can the scooter be pointed toward a person's face or eyes?
A. No. Keep a firm grip on the bracket during use, and do not point the front or rear end toward the face, especially the eyes.
Q11. Will the M2 float if released underwater? Is a neutral-buoyancy kit available?
A. No. If released underwater, the M2 will sink, with approximately 1.5 kgf of negative buoyancy. An optional M2 neutral-buoyancy kit is available to offset part of the negative buoyancy and reduce the tendency to sink, bringing the device closer to neutral buoyancy. The kit does not provide positive buoyancy and is not a lifesaving device. Actual buoyancy is also affected by fresh water versus seawater, the mounting configuration, and the weight of added accessories such as cameras and video lights.
Q12. Can the M2 be used in a swimming pool?
A. Yes, in pools where powered aquatic devices are permitted. Follow all facility rules, keep away from other swimmers, pool walls, drains, and shallow bottoms, and prevent foreign objects from being drawn into the propeller.
Q13. What is the official operating temperature range?
A. The operating temperature range is approximately 0°C–40°C. Operation outside this range may trigger protection functions or cause abnormalities in the battery, motor, or seals.
Q14. What is the maximum operating depth of the M2? Does this mean users may freely dive to 60 m?
A. The M2 has a maximum operating depth of 196 ft (60 m). This value represents the device's maximum operating depth and waterproof-structure rating; it does not mean the user is qualified to dive to the same depth. Actual diving depth must comply with the user's training, certification level, gas planning, decompression requirements, and local regulations.
II. Unboxing, Installation, Power On/Off, and Controls
Q15. What is normally included in the standard M2 package?
A. The M2 complete unit (including battery, motor, and controller), portable carrying case, anti-loss wrist strap, action-camera mount kit, USB-C TO USB-C charging cable, USB-A TO USB-C charging cable, lubricant, spare sealing rings in multiple sizes, retaining clips, and a propeller pin.
Q16. What should be checked before using the M2?
A. Confirm that the housing, intake grille, and propeller are free of damage and foreign objects; the battery is fully seated and both side latches are locked; the controller aviation connector and charging-port waterproof cap are tightened with the triangle marks aligned; the O-rings are intact and lightly coated with an appropriate amount of silicone grease; and the battery has sufficient charge. Before first use, test the unit at low speed in safe, shallow water.
Q17. How do I power on, unlock, start, and power off the M2?
A. Move the battery switch to the “ON” position to power on and confirm that the battery indicator lights illuminate. Press and hold the throttle switch for 3 seconds to unlock the controller. After the beep sounds, hold the trigger to start and release the trigger to stop. If there is no operation for 2 minutes after unlocking, the controller will lock automatically. After use, move the battery switch back to the OFF position. The unit must be powered off before charging, cleaning, installing or removing the battery, or clearing foreign objects.
Q18. How do I switch between Standard Mode and Power Mode on the M2?
A. After the controller is unlocked, it enters Standard Mode by default. Briefly press the throttle switch to change to Power Mode; the unit will emit 2 beeps. Briefly press it again to return to Standard Mode; the unit will emit 1 beep.
Q19. Does the M2 have a Super Mode?
A. No. The M2 has only two modes, Standard Mode and Power Mode, combined with the trigger for linear, continuously variable speed control.
Q20. Does the M2 support cruise mode?
A. No. For user safety, the M2 is not designed with an automatic cruise function. The trigger must be held continuously to produce thrust; releasing the trigger stops the scooter.
Q21. How can I check the current battery level of the M2?
A. The M2 uses 6 battery indicator lights. Battery levels of below 17%, 17%–33%, 33%–50%, 50%–67%, 67%–84%, and 84%–100% correspond to different numbers of illuminated indicators. During charging, the indicators flash; when all indicators remain steadily lit, the battery is fully charged.
Q22. How do I install the M2 battery?
A. First align the positive and negative polarity markings on the battery and main unit, and position the bracket-side latch toward the inside of the bracket. Push the battery smoothly into the interface while maintaining downward pressure. Engage the bracket-side latch first, then engage the latch on the opposite side. Use the product only after confirming that there is no obvious gap or misalignment between the battery and the main unit.
Q23. Does the M2 controller need to be powered on separately, wirelessly paired, or charged?
A. No. The M2 uses a wired controller connected to the main unit through an aviation connector. It does not require wireless pairing and has no remote-control battery that requires separate charging. During installation, align the keyed PIN position with the main-unit interface, tighten the connector until there is no looseness, and confirm that the triangle marks are aligned. After the main unit is powered on, press and hold the throttle switch for 2 seconds to unlock the controller.
Q24. Can the M2 controller handle be moved from one side to the other by the user?
A. The M2 controller is connected through a wired aviation connector. Because the cable length is fixed, the left/right position cannot be changed by the user. Keep the factory-installed configuration and avoid unauthorized changes to cable routing, connectors, or bracket loading.
III. Speed, Thrust, Runtime, and Real-World Performance
Q25. What are the maximum speed and thrust of the M2?
A. The M2 has a maximum static-water thrust of approximately 8.5 kgf. Maximum speed is approximately 1.8 m/s in Power Mode and approximately 1.0 m/s in Standard Mode. Actual speed is affected by factors such as user body weight, posture, equipment drag, water current, and battery level.
Q26. What is the motor power of the M2?
A. The M2 motor power is 500 W.
Q27. Why might some users experience a lower-than-expected speed with the M2?
A. Common reasons include high drag from the user or equipment, a body position that is not sufficiently streamlined, opposing current, low battery level, foreign objects in the propeller or intake grille, or incorrect installation of the bracket or controller.
Q28. What body position should be maintained for better performance when using the M2?
A. Keep the body horizontal, naturally extended, and streamlined, with the head facing forward. Avoid excessively raising the upper body or allowing the legs to sink noticeably. For handheld use, position the scooter directly in front of the body with the arms naturally extended and slightly bent, so the thrust direction is aligned as closely as possible with the body's longitudinal axis. During scuba diving, maintain neutral buoyancy and horizontal trim. Do not use the scooter to make rapid ascents, descents, or sudden directional changes.
Q29. Is the stated M2 runtime based on continuous operation or intermittent use?
A. The currently stated M2 runtime is based on continuous operation. Actual runtime varies with mode, trigger output, water current, load, water temperature, and battery condition.
Q30. How long can the M2 run continuously in Power Mode? Is there a limit on a single operating session?
A. Continuous runtime in Power Mode is approximately 30 minutes, with no fixed limit on the number or duration of individual uses. Maximum output can be maintained for the first 2 minutes after startup. After the trigger has been held continuously for approximately 2 minutes, the device will automatically reduce speed according to the preset Power Mode control logic and continue running. To obtain maximum output again, release the trigger and then press it again.
Q31. Will the M2 automatically shift to a lower mode when the battery is low? Can Power Mode still be used?
A. The M2 does not automatically shift to a lower mode at low battery level; the user may still select Power Mode. To avoid rapid battery depletion and preserve a safety reserve for the return trip, switch to Standard Mode when the battery level is low and return to a safe area as soon as possible.
Q32. Will using two M2 units at the same time always double the speed?
A. No. A dual-unit setup should not be understood this way. Even though total thrust increases when two scooters are used, speed does not increase linearly because hydrodynamic drag rises significantly as speed increases.
Q33. Why might the thrust of two M2 units differ when they are used together?
A. Possible causes include differences in the charge levels of the two batteries, operating mode, trigger output, mounting angle, foreign objects in a propeller, or the protection status of either device.
Q34. Does the scooter perform better at greater depths?
A. Not necessarily. The device should remain watertight within its rated depth, but water pressure, equipment drag, diving posture, and environmental conditions can affect actual performance. Depth is not an indicator of performance gain. (The reverse is also true.)
Q35. Will adding a protective cover or other accessories affect M2 performance?
A. Possibly. Any accessory located near the water intake or outlet flow path may increase drag or disturb water flow. M2 does not currently provide an official finger guard. Before using any accessory, confirm that it is a M2-approved accessory and that it does not obstruct the intake grille or propeller.
IV. Charging, Battery, and Reverse Power Output
Q36. What charging interface does the M2 use?
A. The M2 uses a USB-C charging interface and supports the PD protocol. The charging voltage range is 5 V–20 V, with a maximum charging power of 100 W (PD3.0).
Q37. How long does it take to fully charge the M2?
A. A full charge takes as little as approximately 1.5 hours. Charging time is affected by the remaining battery level, charger power, cable specifications, ambient temperature, and battery condition.
Q38. Does the M2 require a 100 W charger?
A. No. A charger that supports the PD protocol is recommended; the device supports a maximum charging power of 100 W. For faster charging, use a USB-C charger and charging cable rated at 100 W or higher, and make sure that both the charger and cable meet applicable safety certification requirements.
Q39. How should the charging port be inspected and cleaned before charging? What should I do if water enters the port or it is exposed to seawater?
A. Before opening the waterproof cap, wipe the exterior of the device dry. Before charging, make sure the USB-C port is clean and completely dry. If water has entered the port, use a clean cotton swab to remove moisture, sand, and salt. If the port has been exposed to seawater, thoroughly clean it with a cotton swab lightly moistened with an appropriate amount of alcohol, then allow it to dry completely. Charge or use the device only after the port is completely dry and shows no corrosion, unusual odor, or abnormal heating. If any abnormal condition is present, contact M2 after-sales service.
Q40. How do the indicator lights behave while the M2 is charging?
A. During charging, the battery indicator lights flash, and the number of illuminated indicators corresponds to the current battery level. When all indicators remain steadily lit, the battery is fully charged.
Q41. Can the M2 provide reverse charging to a phone, tablet, or laptop?
A. No. The M2 does not support reverse power output.
Q42. What should be done after the M2 has finished charging?
A. After unplugging the charging cable, fully tighten the charging-port waterproof cap, confirm that it is not loose, and check that the triangle marks are aligned. Before entering the water, check the sealing ring and waterproof cap again.
Q43. How is the M2 battery charged?
A. Power off the unit. In a dry environment, open the charging-port waterproof cap. After confirming that the USB-C port is clean and dry, connect a charger that supports the PD protocol. The indicator lights flash while charging; when all indicators remain steadily lit, the battery is fully charged.
Q44. Does the M2 controller have a separate mode indicator light?
A. No. The current version of the M2 does not have a mode indicator light.
Q45. Can the M2 battery be removed and replaced? Can this be done underwater?
A. Yes. The M2 uses a modular quick-removal battery design, allowing spare batteries to be carried to extend operating time. However, the battery must never be removed, installed, or replaced in water. During battery handling, the device, your hands, and the surrounding environment must be completely dry to prevent water ingress, short circuits, and equipment damage.
Q46. Does the M2 package include a power adapter?
A. No. To reduce unnecessary electronic accessories and resource waste, the package includes a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and a USB-A to USB-C charging cable. Select your own power adapter that supports the PD protocol, has a suitable power rating, and complies with applicable safety standards.
Q47. Can the M2 be charged immediately after use while it is still hot?
A. Not recommended. First allow the M2 to cool naturally in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Charge it only after confirming that its temperature is within the 0°C–40°C charging range and that the interface is completely dry.
Q48. Can the M2 be used in water while it is charging?
A. No. The waterproof cap is open during charging. Charging in water, in a damp environment, or near water is strictly prohibited, and the device must not be powered on while charging.
Q49. Can the M2 be charged with a low-power phone charger?
A. Some lower-power chargers that support the PD protocol may be able to charge the M2, but charging will be slower and compatibility may vary. For stable charging, use a suitably rated PD charger and a compliant cable.
Q50. Can any USB-C cable be used with the M2?
A. Not recommended. To achieve higher charging power, use a USB-C charging cable rated at 100 W or higher and in good condition. Stop using the cable if it is damaged, if the connector is loose, or if it has become wet.
V. Waterproofing, Water-Ingress Risks, and Air Travel
Q51. Does the M2's 60 m waterproof rating mean it remains waterproof with the charging port open?
A. No. The 60 m waterproof capability applies only when the battery, controller aviation connector, charging-port waterproof cap, and O-rings are all correctly installed and in good condition. Do not place the device in water if any interface is open, the cap is not securely tightened, or a sealing ring is damaged.
Q52. Why should lubricant be applied to the M2 waterproof cap and O-rings?
A. An appropriate amount of silicone grease keeps the O-rings lubricated and helps form a reliable seal. Apply a continuous thin layer approximately 0.2–0.5 mm thick to the surface of a clean O-ring, and remove excess grease from exposed areas around the interface.
Q53. What can happen if water enters the M2 controller aviation connector?
A. Water ingress may cause contact corrosion, connection-detection errors, loss of control, or device damage. If water ingress is found, immediately power off the unit, clean and dry it thoroughly, and confirm that the O-ring is undamaged before testing the device again. If the abnormal condition persists, contact after-sales service.
Q54. Can the M2 continue to be used if water ingress is suspected?
A. No. Immediately power off the unit and stop charging or placing it back in the water. Do not disassemble or repair the battery or main unit yourself. Record the suspected ingress location, time, and observed symptoms, and contact the M2 support team.
Q55. Can the M2 battery be carried on an airplane?
A. Yes. The M2 battery is 126 Wh. (When battery capacity exceeds 100 Wh but does not exceed 160 Wh, prior approval from the operating airline is required. A removable battery should be removed from the scooter, with the terminals insulated and protected against short circuit, and carried in carry-on baggage rather than checked baggage. Typically, each passenger may carry no more than two such batteries.)
Q56. Can multiple spare M2 batteries be carried on a flight?
A. Yes. For the 126 Wh M2 battery, passengers are typically limited to no more than two batteries per person.
Q57. Can spare lithium batteries be placed in checked baggage?
A. Generally, no. FAA/IATA requirements call for spare lithium batteries to be carried in carry-on baggage and individually protected against short circuit. If carry-on baggage is required to be checked at the gate, remove the spare batteries first.
Q58. Can a damaged, swollen, water-damaged, or recalled battery be taken on an airplane?
A. No. Damaged or recalled lithium batteries and devices, or batteries/devices that may overheat or short-circuit, must not be taken on an airplane. They should be handled in accordance with the brand's instructions and local dangerous-goods regulations.
Q59. Does “airline-approved” mean every airline must accept the battery?
A. No. It generally means the battery capacity and test documentation comply with common transportation frameworks, but airlines, countries, and airports may impose stricter requirements. The final decision rests with the operating airline and security screening authorities.
VI. Accessories, Mounting Options, and Dual-Unit Configuration
Q60. What mounting and expansion options does the M2 support?
A. The M2 supports mounting options including the standard two-hand bracket, dual-unit bracket, one-hand bracket, anti-loss wrist strap, SUP mount, and leg-mount bracket. It also features a standard quick-release structure and a 1/4-inch threaded expansion interface on the battery housing for mounting a camera, video light, or safety retention hook. Other brackets, buoyancy modules, or mounting modules should be used only within the scope of M2 official accessory instructions and approvals.
Q61. Does the M2 support forearm-strap mounting?
A. The current M2 design does not include a forearm-strap mounting option. Do not use homemade straps or unapproved brackets, as they may interfere with control, the intake grille, or safe release.
Q62. Does the M2 support leg mounting?
A. Yes. The M2 supports a leg-mount configuration. The official leg-mount bracket kit is available separately.
Q63. Can the M2 be mounted on a scuba cylinder?
A. Both single-unit and dual-unit scuba configurations are supported.
Q64. Can the M2 be mounted on a SUP?
A. Yes.
Q65. Can a dual-M2 setup be assembled by combining two single-unit brackets?
A. Not recommended. The official M2 dual-unit bracket and controller are available for purchase. A user-assembled combination may cause structural failure, unsynchronized control, or entanglement hazards.
Q66. Can two M2 units be controlled simultaneously with one trigger?
A. Yes. With our official dual-unit bracket and dual-unit controller handle, one trigger can control two M2 units simultaneously.
Q67. How should the M2 wrist strap be installed and worn?
A. Install the wrist strap in the wrist-strap mounting hole indicated in the manual and wear it facing outward to reduce the risk of the strap being drawn toward the water intake. Before use, confirm that the strap is secure and cannot enter the propulsion flow path.
Q68. Can an action camera be mounted on the M2?
A. Yes. Later production batches include an official camera mount and camera thumb screw as standard equipment. The battery housing also has a 1/4-inch threaded expansion interface for mounting a camera, video light, or safety retention hook.
Q69. Can the M2 be used with one hand?
A. Yes. An official M2 one-hand bracket is available for purchase. To maintain stable control and load distribution, removing one handle or converting the unit to a homemade one-hand configuration is not recommended.
VII. Cleaning, Maintenance, and Long-Term Storage
Q70. How should the M2 be cleaned and dried after use in seawater?
A. Clean the M2 promptly after use. First power off the unit and confirm that the battery, controller aviation connector, and charging-port waterproof cap are all installed and locked securely. Then immerse the fully assembled unit in fresh water for approximately 30 minutes; do not soak the battery or main-unit module separately. Next, clean the exterior surfaces, connection areas, and propeller. Use a normal flow of fresh water and do not direct high-pressure water at close range toward interfaces, the shaft seal, or the charging port. After cleaning, allow the unit to air-dry naturally in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Pack or store it only after it is completely dry.
Q71. What should I do if the M2 propeller is entangled, does not rotate smoothly, or makes an unusual noise?
A. Immediately power off the unit and remove it from the water. Do not apply power in an attempt to break up the obstruction. Follow the manual to remove the rear cover, propeller retaining screw and washer, cylindrical pin, and intake grille, then clear sand, line, seaweed, or other foreign objects. Keep all removed parts secure. After cleaning, with the power off, turn the propeller by hand to check that it rotates smoothly. If friction, axial play, or abnormal noise remains, stop using the device and contact after-sales service.
Q72. How often should the M2 O-rings be replaced?
A. There is no fixed mandatory replacement interval for the O-rings; the interval should be based on actual usage frequency and storage conditions. For frequent seawater use, a comprehensive inspection is recommended approximately every 10–20 dives, with preventive replacement based on wear. For less frequent use, inspect at least once every 2 months and replace as needed. Before using the device again after long-term storage, carefully inspect the O-rings for cracks, cuts, deformation, hardening, wear, or loss of elasticity. Replace any O-ring immediately if an abnormal condition is found; do not continue using it merely by applying more lubricant.
Q73. Is more O-ring lubricant always better for the M2?
A. No. Apply an even thin layer approximately 0.2–0.5 mm thick, avoiding clumps or excessive buildup. Use a tissue to remove excess lubricant from exposed areas around the interface so it does not attract dust or interfere with locking.
Q74. How should the M2 be prepared for long-term storage?
A. Power off the unit, clean it, and dry it completely. Store it at -10°C to 50°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, open flames, and strong magnetic fields. During long periods of non-use, check the battery level once a month and recharge it to 50%–70% as needed to avoid excessive discharge. Before using the device again, inspect the interfaces, O-rings, and battery condition.
Q75. Should the battery be removed from the M2 during long-term storage?
A. The user manual does not require the battery to be removed for long-term storage. Whether the battery is removed or left installed, power must be off, interfaces must be kept dry, terminals must be protected against short circuit, and the battery should be checked monthly and maintained at 50%–70% charge.
Q76. Does oxidation or scratching on the M2 housing affect use?
A. Minor scratches do not necessarily affect function, but damage to the protective oxide layer on the aluminum-alloy housing should be repaired promptly to prevent further corrosion. If cracks, deformation, damage to sealing surfaces, or connector corrosion is present, stop using the device in water and take corrective action.
Q77. Can I disassemble the M2 battery or main unit, or replace internal parts myself?
A. No. Users may only perform external disassembly, installation, and maintenance expressly permitted by the manual, such as work on the battery, bracket, controller connector, rear cover, propeller, and intake grille. Do not disassemble the battery compartment or internal circuits or replace internal components yourself. Unauthorized repair may create safety risks and may affect warranty coverage.
VIII. Troubleshooting and Fault Indications
Q78. What should I do if the M2 does not respond after powering on, operating the controller, or pulling the trigger?
A. Check that the battery is correctly installed with no obvious gap, both side latches are locked, the battery switch is in the ON position, and the battery has sufficient charge. Also check that the controller aviation connector PINs, keyed alignment feature, O-ring, and triangle marks are normal, and that the interface is dry, free of foreign objects, and fully tightened. Confirm that the throttle switch has been held for 2 seconds to unlock the controller. Check whether a fault indicator signal is present. Also inspect the propeller and intake grille for foreign objects. If there is still no response, stop using the device and contact after-sales service.
Q79. What should I do if the M2 does not respond after lubricant has been applied to the aviation connector?
A. Check that the specified silicone grease is being used (refer to the manual for detailed specification requirements), that the O-ring is installed correctly, that the connector pins inside the aviation connector are not corroded, and that excess grease, sand, or other foreign objects are not preventing the interface from locking correctly. After cleaning, reapply a 0.2–0.5 mm thin layer and confirm that the triangle marks on the aviation connector are aligned.
Q80. What should I do if the motor runs by itself after power-on or the trigger does not return?
A. Immediately power off the unit and stop using it. Check whether sand or other foreign objects are lodged in the trigger or throttle switch. With power disconnected, rinse continuously under running water while repeatedly pressing the control; if necessary, pull it outward manually until smooth movement is restored. Refer to the manual for detailed procedures. If the abnormal condition remains, contact after-sales service.
Q81. Why can't the M2 switch to Power Mode?
A. First confirm that the controller has been unlocked by holding the throttle switch for 3 seconds, then briefly press the throttle switch. When switching to Power Mode, the unit should emit 2 beeps. If there is no response, check whether the throttle switch is jammed by foreign objects, whether the controller aviation connector is connected correctly, and whether the device is in an over-temperature or low-battery condition.
Q82. What should I do if the M2 enters over-temperature protection or the main unit/battery temperature rises abnormally?
A. Immediately stop using or charging the M2. Move it to a shaded, well-ventilated, cooler environment and allow it to cool naturally. Do not restart it until the fault indication disappears, and do not leave the device unprotected in high-temperature environments such as direct sun on a beach. If over-temperature protection is repeatedly triggered under normal conditions, or if there is an unusual odor, swelling, or persistent heating, stop using the device and contact M2 after-sales service for inspection.
Q83. What should I do if the M2 indicates battery over-discharge?
A. The official fault table instructs users to contact the M2 support team. Do not repeatedly force the unit to power on or attempt to “activate” the battery with an incompatible charger, as this may cause further battery damage. During long-term storage, check the battery level monthly and maintain it at 50%–70% to reduce the risk of over-discharge.
Q84. What should I do if the M2 continuously emits “beep-beep” tones after the battery switch is turned on?
A. This usually indicates a controller connection or recognition abnormality. First power off the unit, disconnect and reconnect the controller aviation connector, and confirm that the connector is fully tightened and the triangle marks are aligned before powering on again. If the repeated “beep-beep” tone continues, rapidly press the throttle switch on the controller handle 5 times in succession, then restart the device. If the issue is still not resolved, stop using the product and contact after-sales support.
Q85. What should I do if the M2 still will not charge properly, or the battery will not accept a charge, when using a PD charger?
A. Confirm that the charging port is clean and completely dry, the USB-C cable is fully inserted, the charger supports the PD protocol, and the cable has suitable specifications. Check whether the charging indicators are flashing. You may test with another compliant charger and cable. If water has entered the interface, the housing is damaged, there is no indicator response, or abnormal heating or odor occurs, stop charging immediately and contact after-sales service.
Q86. Why can't the M2 start after it has been unlocked but left unused for a long time?
A. If there is no operation for 2 minutes after the controller is unlocked, the M2 automatically locks. Press and hold the throttle switch for 3 seconds again to unlock it before starting. This is the normal safety logic designed to prevent unintended activation.
Q87. What should I do if the M2 battery latches will not close?
A. Check that the positive and negative polarity directions are aligned, and first position the bracket-side latch toward the inside of the bracket. Press the battery downward so it fits tightly against the main unit. After confirming that there is no obvious gap or misalignment, engage the two side latches in sequence. Do not force a misaligned latch closed.
Q88. What should I do if the device suddenly loses propulsion in the water?
A. Stay calm, release the trigger, and return to a safe area using your own swimming ability, buoyancy device, and buddy assistance. Do not repeatedly force the device to restart. After leaving the water, check the battery level, protection indications, propeller, and interfaces.
Q89. What should I do if the M2 motor continues running by itself after power-on?
A. Immediately turn off the power. An improperly installed controller aviation connector or water ingress at the interface may cause the motor to keep running. Do not continue using the device. First disconnect the aviation connector and check the PINs for bending, displacement, looseness, or breakage, and confirm that there is no moisture or foreign material inside the interface. After the interface is completely dry, realign the keyed position and tighten the aviation connector. If the abnormal condition remains, contact after-sales service.
Q90. The M2 runs at a very low speed in air. Is it faulty?
A. Usually not. No-load protection significantly reduces speed in air to protect the shaft system; the same no-load protection is not triggered when the scooter is under load in water. Do not run the device in air for an extended period.
Q91. What should I do if the M2 overheats while charging?
A. Stop charging and place the main unit in a cooler room-temperature environment. Wait until the unit cools to a suitable temperature and the fault indicator turns off before trying again. Do not use ice water or forced cooling methods that may cause condensation.
Q92. What should I do if the M2 battery cannot be installed or the battery-to-motor connection is too tight?
A. First check that the battery installation direction, positive/negative polarity markings, and keyed alignment features at the connection are correctly aligned, and confirm that there is no sand, hair, or other foreign material in the interface. Check that the O-ring is seated flat without twisting or coming out of its groove, and after cleaning, apply a small, even amount of the specified silicone grease. During installation, keep the battery parallel to the main unit and press downward evenly with both hands. Once the battery is fully seated with no obvious gap, secure both side latches. Do not insert the battery at an angle, apply excessive force on only one side, or force the latches closed, as this may damage the O-ring, latches, or connection interface. If the battery still cannot be installed correctly after cleaning and lubrication, stop the operation and contact after-sales service.
Q93. What should I do if a pressure difference at the battery-to-motor connection makes the battery difficult to remove after use?
A. First power off the unit and wipe the exterior dry in a dry environment. After opening both battery latches, leave the device for several minutes so that the device temperature and pressure at the connection can gradually equalize. Then gently press the battery inward first, keep the battery parallel to the main unit, move it slightly from side to side along the axial direction, and slowly pull it out so air can gradually enter the sealed connection. Do not pull hard at an angle, twist violently, strike the device, or pry it with tools, as this may damage the latches, O-ring, or connection interface. If the battery still cannot be removed, stop the operation and contact after-sales service.
IX. Warranty, Returns, Exchanges, and After-Sales Service
Q94. What are the warranty periods for the M2 main unit and battery?
A. The M2 main unit is covered by a 1-year warranty, and the battery is covered by a 6-month warranty. The warranty period is generally calculated from the date shown on the purchase invoice, order record, or other valid proof of purchase. If applicable law provides a longer mandatory statutory rights period, local law shall prevail.
Q95. What information should be provided when requesting M2 after-sales service?
A. It is recommended to provide proof of purchase, the product model or serial number, a detailed description of when and under what circumstances the issue occurred, and relevant photos, videos, or other information that may help diagnose the problem.
Q96. What situations are generally not covered by the M2 warranty?
A. Accidents, misuse, abuse, negligence, collision, dropping, crushing, burning, incorrect installation, use of non-original or unapproved accessories, unauthorized disassembly, repair or modification, use beyond specified depth, temperature, or environmental limits, continued use when the device is visibly damaged or abnormal, and battery over-discharge or performance degradation caused by failure to maintain the product as required during long-term storage are generally excluded from the limited warranty.
Q97. How do I request after-sales service for the M2?
A. If the product develops a fault during the warranty period, contact M2 customer service or an authorized service provider. Technical support personnel may first perform a preliminary diagnosis by phone, email, online communication, or remote assistance, and arrange shipment for inspection if necessary.
Q98. If I purchased the M2 from a dealer, should I contact the brand or the dealer?
A. Normally, contact the original point of purchase or a local authorized dealer first, and keep your proof of purchase. If the sales channel cannot resolve the issue, contact M2 customer service or an authorized service provider.
Q99. What should I do before sending the M2 in for repair?
A. Fully power off the device, clean it and dry it thoroughly, remove nonessential accessories, prepare the proof of purchase, serial number, and fault information, and ship the product according to the packaging and lithium-battery transportation requirements provided by after-sales service. Do not send the battery without prior confirmation.
Q100. Is warranty coverage available for a second-hand M2?
A. The limited warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser. Whether warranty service is accepted for a second-hand unit depends on the proof of purchase, region, and applicable policy. Before purchasing a used unit, verify the serial number, invoice, and device condition.
